Chef Shawntia “Chef Griff” Griffin, Owner
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Chef Shawntia Griffin, affectionately known as Chef Griff, is the heart and soul behind Griff’s Grub. A proud mother, entrepreneur, and culinary mentor, Chef Griff turned her lifelong passion for cooking into a full-time business dedicated to serving food made with love, purpose, and community spirit.
After working years in the medical field, Chef Griff followed her calling to the kitchen—launching Griff’s Grub in 2021 to nourish her community through authentic flavors and exceptional service. Her talent and creativity have earned her recognition as the 1st place winner in the 2024 Dole Summer Cooking Competition in Hollywood, California.
Chef Griff’s culinary journey extends beyond catering. She teaches cooking classes for youth through Black Girls Cook at the Boys & Girls Club, and has brought her skills and encouragement to students at Cross Country Elementary, Dickey Hill Elementary, and Randallstown Elementary School. She also serves as the chef at her church during weekly Bible Study classes, continuing to feed both the body and spirit of her community.
Chef Griff believes food is more than a meal—it’s a way to connect, uplift, and leave a legacy. Through her work, she inspires young chefs, builds family traditions, and brings people together one plate at a time.
